General tips and secrets to Pacland

This guide is meant as an overview to the whole game. General tips and secrets are shown. There might be screenshots of certain trips, but the tip normally works whatever trip you are on. If you stuck somewhere, or don't know how to do something, drop me an e-mail and ill help out.

Where ever you are, if your in a pickle don't be afraid of jumping on the ghosts head. Your safe on top of any of them.

Later on, if you get stuck between two buses you can hitch a ride on the top level. To do this stand still on the floor. As the bus approaches, just before your dead Jump. Just push jump, not direction buttons. This move should be seen as a last resort, it doesn't always work. Learn your ghosts! Each colour has it own characteristics. For example, the brown car will follow you, the dark brown and pink pogo stick bounce twice (useful on later levels).

Down the bottom of the screen, you will see lots of yellow blobs. Full time equals 5000 points. Slowly they will start to get used up.

When it reaches zero, timeout will flash and the bald ghost will chase after you at a tremendous speed. You can just about out run him though. When your short on time, run and jump, you move slightly quicker this way. While we are on the subject of quickness, use the keyboard and instead of tapping right then holding the button to run, keep tapping right all the time.

When you get the power pill, always try to make sure that all four ghosts are about. Move back and forward if need be. They don't have to be in view, sometimes you can here by a sound affect that they are there.

Get the bald one without the hat last, OR when the value will be worth 3200.

This will give you an "L", which gives you the value of your time left in points, then gives you a full amount of time.

There are many secrets to be found on all the trips, One that is constant is the helmet. When you are wearing this, the babies that drop from the planes wont kill you but give you 300 points each. This can be really useful in racking up lots of points and means you don't have to worry about thing dropping from the sky killing you.

Each trip is made up of four rounds, the last of which you get some flying boots from the fairy. At the end of most rounds you get to the break time bit. Just before you reach the end of your house (or the first railing if going back) Jump! You get points depending on where you jumped. It is possible to get 7650 points for this. If you got no points, you jumped too early. If you got 1000 points, you jumped too late. Getting "7s" regularly will take some practice. I've noticed it seems easier to get on the Midway version.

Rivers are easy! Trust me! at. Many people have problems on the long one, but you'll get used to it. Jump at the end of the ramp and when you are in the air keep tapping right.

Fruit is important as the points you earn from them soon add up to a considerable amount. Normally fruit is activated by jumping on to fire hydrants. Eat it quick, before it goes mouldy.

Get that galag! It will give you a "7" but can you catch it?

Finally, take a look at some of the levels later on. I don't want to spoil it too much for you. Pacland for me, was one of those games where you just wanted to get to the next level, just to see what was next. I hope these pages have helped you, although I haven't revealed everything. Hey I gotta keep some things to myself.
