Mame is a cross platform emulator and is version 034beta3. Mame for the Amiga is PPC version, the other Amiga ones are not really up to it. I don't have much info about Mame for the Mac. Newer versions of Mame are available elsewhere but I havnt put them on my site as I seem to have a problem finding a rom to work with them. This is a shame as ive heard the latter versions have sound and fix the problem with the torch not working. If anyone out there has found a rom that works please let me know

JAS is an emulator for the PC only and in some ways better than Mame

Please note it is illegal to use the following roms, unless you own the original.

Now the legal stuff is out of the way. The Bally Midway version of Pacland is better than the Namco one although i've had reports of it running too fast when using JAS. I've included a Pacman one as it is sort of topical. Please read the documents that come with the emulator. If you want something that is point and click, forget it. Dont worry too much, its not that hard to set up and it is worth it.

PLAYING THE GAME

• 1 Open folder: EG: D:\Games\jas\jas.exe
• 2 Highlight: jas.exe
• 3 Click 'Start' button
• 4 Choose 'Run'
• 5 Type jas PaclandN
• 6 Click 'OK'
• 7 WAIT................ for DOS message
• 8 Follow Screen prompt
• 9 Click 'Return' after making sure 'Play Game' is highlighted
• 10 Move joystick to the Right to select a sound
• 11 Press '1' to Select: No. of lives
• 12 Press '2' to Select: Extend Type
• 13 Press '3' to Select: Rank
• 14 Press 'F10' to go to the 'Start' Screen
• 15 Press '3' to get 'New Game' Screen
• 16 Press '1' for the one player button
• 17 Select trip number by moving joystick to the right
• 18 Press 'Return'
• 19 HAPPY PACLANDING !!!!!
• EXITING THE GAME
• 1 Press: 'ESC'
• 2 Use the arrow keys to Highlight: 'EXIT'
• 3 Press: 'Return'
• 4 Close the Window
• 5 GOOD BYE !!!!!
